The event was jointly organized by the Department of Market Development and Science and Technology Enterprises and the General Department of Vocational Education in two days from October 16 to 17, 2019 at Hanoi High-Tech Vocational College.

This event is part of a series of events geared towards the National Innovation Start-up Day (Techfest Vietnam). Techfest Vietnam is the largest annual event for the Vietnamese creative startup community. The Techfest event in recent years has attracted a lot of attention and participation of organizations in the startup ecosystem of innovation and created a great buzz with domestic and international startup community.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister Tran Van Tung said: Being aware of the strategic and crucial role of developing innovative startups in the socio-economic development process, the implementation of the Project “Supporting the national creative innovation start-up ecosystem to 2025” (hereinafter referred to as Project 844) approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 844 / QD-TTg dated May 18, 2016 , unification of ministries, departments, sectors, socio-political organizations, founders, innovative start-ups, investors, investment funds, coaches, consultants , start-up support.

In addition, the Prime Minister also approved the Project "Supporting students to start their businesses until 2025", the project "Supporting women in starting their businesses in the period of 2017-2025"; The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee launched the Program "Supporting young people to start their business" in the period of 2016-2021, launching the Center for Supporting Young Entrepreneurs (SyS). Simultaneously, over 40 provinces and cities have issued plans to implement Project 844.

The legal framework for creative start-up has also been drastically developed and issued by the authorities: From the Law on Supporting Small and Medium Enterprises in 2017; The 2017 Technology Transfer Law was amended to relevant Decrees and Circulars.
