Lining fabric selection / VTEX
70gsm and 85gsm lining fabrics: Distinguish the three ranges before ordering
70gsm plain, 70gsm embossed and 85gsm embossed lining fabrics are separate VTEX products. Use the full product name so workshops, manufacturers and distributors can communicate requirements correctly from the sample or quotation stage.
What are the specifications of the three lining fabrics?
| Fabric | Composition | Weight | Surface | Width / colour |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 70gsm plain lining fabric | 100% Microfiber | 70gsm | Plain | 240cm / white |
| 70gsm embossed lining fabric | 100% Microfiber | 70gsm | Embossed | 240cm / white |
| 85gsm embossed lining fabric | 100% Microfiber | 85gsm | Embossed | 240cm / white |
The same width and colour do not mean the same product code. Specify both weight and surface in your purchase request.
Distinguish weight from surface
70gsm and 85gsm describe mass per square metre. Plain and embossed describe the surface. These are separate criteria, so a request should specify more than just “white lining” or “embossed fabric”.
Weight alone does not confirm strength, shrinkage or suitability for every construction. Compare samples and consult the workshop for your specific design.
Identify the lining's position in the product
Before selecting a lining for bedding or other sewn products, describe its position, the materials it touches and how the layers are joined or sewn. This keeps discussions focused on the actual construction.
Do not replace 70gsm with 85gsm or plain with embossed merely because the names are similar. Review each change using samples and the workshop's production plan.
State metres for each fabric separately
All three lining ranges have a confirmed width of 240cm. Use that width and your cutting layout to calculate metres. When comparing two or three codes, list metres for each rather than one combined total.
Retain the selected specifications to use the same product name when replenishing. Include any specific finished-product requirements in your request.
Request samples and quotations together
You can include all three lining fabrics in one VTEX request. Select the code, specifications and quantity for each, then enter contact details once. Review the list before submitting to avoid confusing the ranges.
