What does GSM mean in textiles?
GSM means grams per square metre (g/m²). It is a measure of mass per area, not the weight of one linear metre.
GSM and fabric width
Two rolls with the same GSM but different widths have different mass per linear metre. State weight, width and metres when ordering.
Do not judge quality by GSM alone
Also review composition, weave and finish. Actual samples help compare usage requirements.
